About Me & My Classroom

I teach fifth grade is a large, urban school district.  I began my teaching career in 2002.  I started out in 4th grade, but moved up to fifth grade with a group of kids I just loved.  After they graduated, I stayed in fifth grade and I've been there ever since! Starting last year, I took over teaching the  fifth English Language Learner (ELL/ESL) group! It's a brand new challenge, but I really enjoy working with this group :-)

  1. I saw your blog on a sale Linky. I'm glad I found you. I find it interesting that your ELLs are all in one class. Almost all of our students are ELLs. I have to admit: I can't figure out what BK stands for. I'm your newest follower. It's always nice to find another fifth grade blog.

  2. We have MANY bilingual students in our school, but only a small number are actually still classified as ELLs. I'm quite envious of my students who so easily speak two languages!

(And BK is short for Brooklyn!)
